Easter Egg Trail telling the Easter Story - 3 Printable Trails

I'm so egg-cited to share this Easter Trail with you! New for this year, this Easter Egg Trail for children explores key elements of the Easter Story.

Designed on 10 eggs, this Printable Trail features simple activities for children to explore. What's more, there's not one, not two, but THREE trails to choose from! Simply choose the trail most suitable for your setting. Find out more below.

Over the years, I've found sharing a trail like this around a church is not only a simple & effective way to open up the Easter Story for children, but also enables adults to engage with it too, especially those who are unfamiliar with the Passion narrative. I'm also aware that every church & setting has its own limitations, so I've created three versions of the same trail so you can decide which one is best for your situation.

🥚Trail One

This Easter Egg Trail features 10 colourful eggs, each sharing the Easter Story along with simple activities to explore, & a Bible verse. The eggs are not numbered, so you can display the whole set or select which eggs you wish to display. There are no resources or extra prep needed for this trial.

🥚Trail Two

This Egg Trail features the same Easter story, Bible verses & simple activities but also includes a mystery word challenge with letters hidden on each egg. The eggs are also numbered to help children follow the trail. There are no resources or extra prep needed for this trial.

🥚Trail Three

Trail Three is the same as Trail Two, but offers different activities. The activities are super simple but will need a little prep beforehand. You'll find a free printable checklist that takes you through each activity & the resources you'll need, most of which you'll probably have already. This is a perfect trail to offer during Holy Week or as an alternative to an activity morning.

🥚How to use the Trail

Each of the three Easter Egg Trails can be displayed indoors or outside for children & families to explore independently.

If you're in a school or community setting, Trail Two would work brilliantly displayed around a playground or outdoor area.

If you're in a church setting, any of the three trails would work well. In my experience, trails work best when displayed for a week or more to enable as many families as possible to discover them. Children love to rediscover trails like this, especially outdoors, & often invite others to join them too. What a great way to share the good news of Easter!
