Five Currant Buns in the Baker's Shop

Check out these yummy currant buns! We made these tasty treats using scraps of card which we laminated, before adding numbers 1-5 on the back. We then found a 'baker's' basket, lined it with a gingham napkin & added our currant buns.

Voila! A simple song illustration which Minnie
has been playing with all day! :o)

"Five currant buns in the baker's shop
Big and round with a cherry on the top
Along came Minnie with a penny one day
Bought a currant bun & took it away!"

Baker Bear optional ;o)

  1. I love this activity! So simple and sweet. It is a good idea to "illustrate" nuresry rhymes this way.

  2. I don't comment as often as I probably should but I'm checking your ideas frequently! And got a little treat for you here:

  3. Wonderful idea!! Love it!! Kerri

  4. Thank you :) Minnie had lots of fun with these & even sold them in her Bakers Shop!

  5. Michelle - Wow! Thank you so much that's so kind. I feel I'm still a new kid on the block really ;)

  6. OH! The buns look LOVELY! And love the idea of making them counting buns too! We like!!! Will have to get a laminator... so much potential for fun!
