Paper Advent Candle to Make & Colour

This Paper Advent Candle is a super simple way for kids to countdown to Christmas. Colour in the stars as you journey through Advent & slowly see the light appear. An ideal craft for kids of all ages to make at home, school, or church.

Advent for us is a time of waiting & preparing as we journey towards Christmas. In the hustle & bustle of all the exciting Christmas preparations, this Advent activity gives children an opportunity to focus for a moment on the real reason for the season.

The candle reminds us of Jesus, the light of the world, & as the stars are coloured in day by day, slowly the light builds across the candle. We found colouring pens work best for this activity, & if you add a LED tealight to the centre of the candle the coloured stars really do glow!

Designed on just one sheet of A4, this candle is quick & easy for children to cut out & make, all you need are scissors, a glue stick & colouring pens. There's a Nativity scene at the base for them to colour before they construct the candle. Obviously the stars need to be left so these can be coloured in every day throughout December.

You'll find simple, self explanatory instructions on the printable too, so if you wish, you could leave them out in your church or school for families to pick up & take home.
