5 Storybooks Celebrating The Ocean

Our 5 Books this week have an Ocean theme as we're currently exploring all our oceans have to offer.

'Hooray for Fish' by Lucy Cousins is a book brimming with wonderful fish! There are stripey fish, spotty fish, big fish, little fish, any fish you can imagine & more! Bright bold illustrations entertain the reader on every page of this beautiful book. Perfect for encouraging creativity & imagination.

Bright Stanley

'Bright Stanley' by Matt Buckingham is an adventure book following Stanley & his journey one morning. He wakes early to discover the other fish in his school have disappeared. Where have they gone & where will Stanley's travels take him as he sets off to search for them? Bright illustrations with shiny scales on every page.

'Tiddler' by Julia Donaldson is another fantastic fishy tale. It tells the tale of a teeny-weeny fish who likes to tell tall tales! He maybe just a little fish, but he has a big imagination & loves to dream! One day his dreaming gets him lost, what story will Tiddler tell next? Luckily his tales help him get back home. A book full of fun rhyming magic!

Octopus Socktopus

'Octopus Socktopus' by Nick Sharratt is a great book for all ages. The bright, colourful illustrations & pop-ups are great for little ones to explore, while pre-schoolers will appreciate the silly word play & comical characters too. Have you ever met a Socktopus, a Toffee Choctopus or a Helicopterpus? This is the perfect book to share giggles!

We've recently been reading 'Commotion in the Ocean' by Giles Andreae & M loves it! It's another book packed with comical rhymes & great illustrations, & has been prefect to read alongside our Ocean play area.

Looking forward to sharing all of these sea tales together this week.
