Celebrating Epiphany (Three Kings Day)

We celebrate the twelve days of Christmas in our house so we leave the decorations & Christmas tree up until Epiphany on January 6th. Today we'll be unwrapping small gifts, reminding us of the gifts the three wise men presented to Jesus in the Nativity story. We'll be placing the 3 Kings in our crib play scene, & sharing the Nativity story together again.

"This is the Star" by Joyce Dunbar & Gary Blythe is a beautiful book to share with children, & retells the Nativity story in a simple yet magical way. Its lyrical, repetitive text introduces the key characters from the story, & concludes with the visit from the three wise men.
